Our maths and English course builds on examples that are already found within the creative activities undertaken at MAP, providing a practical way for learners to relate to the maths and English activities that they sometimes struggle with. We give learners one to one support in working through a GCSE study and revision programme, or a functional skills programme - both of which use a range of computer based, paper based, and practical activities.
In school there’s more going on… so you get distracted easily, but in MAP, it’s smaller. When we’ve got an issue or a problem they’re there for you, and they know what you’re about. It’s a good vibe, and everyone gets along… It’s helped me to figure out what I have to do in life, and what not to do in life… After MAP, I’m going to go back to school.

MAP changed my life. I cannot stress that enough. I don’t know where I would have ended up if it wasn’t for this place. The best schools send their kids to MAP. I’m grateful to my school for making the right choice for me.

When I’m at MAP, I feel safe and I know that when I am struggling, staff will help me. Before I came to MAP I would always get into trouble. Even school can see the difference and I can cope there for longer. I know now how important my education isand I’m trying harder to do better.

As well as the education programme, MAP Education also carries out a wide range of arts and music activities with professional and developing artists, creatives and university learners. These other activities are of considerable value to the education programme as they offer the leaners a unique experience that raises aspirations and highlights options for progression.
A number of graduates from the MAP 11-16 Education programme have returned to MAP Education as volunteers, and for apprenticeships, demonstrating the positive impact of their experiences here.
